Well, this is interesting;
There is a noticeable difference shown in the profiler between two Anvil amps when the Cantabile input cable is muted. Bypassing the plugin itself produces no benefit.
The VST3 version drops load by around 2% when the input cable is muted. VST2 sees no benefit at all.
I would suggest this has to have an impact project wide and I’ll be reviewing my plugin VST iteration to see what else is impacted. Might be worth a dedicated topic.
