Cantabile Spontaneously Disappears - SOLVED

@brad, I uploaded another crash dump file, this one AFTER I had removed the SampleTank bass rack that I thought was causing the problem. I also downgraded my Waves plugins to V14 (to resolve a CLA Mixhub menu display issue), and had run a full plugin scan in Cantabile. I had been stable for most of the day until this evening’s crash. There is still some SampleTank left in the setlist, but oddly not in the song I was playing when the crash occurred.

Okay, this is getting weird. Cantabile just crashed while performing a full plugin folder scan. no song or setlist loaded prior to the scan. Crash dump uploaded to @brad. This crash occurred on my BACKUP laptop, not the one that I had been using the past few days.

This was a crash in Pianoverse

This was a crash in Omnisphere

Usual advice… make sure you’ve got the latest versions installed, if the problem is reproducible with the latest versions let me know and I’ll contact the plugin vendors.

Thanks again, Brad, for the quick reply and crash dump interpretation. I don’t use Omnisphere, so I can remove it. Pianoverse however is my go-to acoustic piano and is a relatively new, heavily marketed and supported product (another IKM product). All my in-use plugins are up-to-date, except the Waves effects which I needed to downgrade to restore lost functionally.

SOLUTION: Brad worked with IKM support, who recommended that I remove the SampleTron 2 and Syntronik 2 library path entries in the SampleTank 4 settings. Since removing these two library paths, I have not had another crash. I will monitor and update this thread is the issue recurs, but for now this appears to be the solution.

I should note that IKM does state in its documentation that SampleTron 2 and Syntronik 2 sounds can be played in SampleTank 4 (and it does work), there are several support threads that indicate the most reliable configuration is the default installation configuration of just SampleTank 4 and SampleTank 3 library paths.
