I’m Robin and recently discovered Cantabile and used the Lite version in a live performance on my laptop. I works great and I am really enthousiastic about using it more and thinking of buying although Lite seems to have everything I need…but…
I installed it on my studio desktop computer, something went wrong and now I cannot get the 64bit version to load. 32bit no problem.
I uninstalled and reinstalled 3 times, it keeps starting up in Crash Recovery mode (I check all the boxes) and it does not go past the Getting Started screen.
Of course I scanned the forums but have not found a solution yet. I might have missed something so if you someone could send me in the right direction it is much appreciated.
In the address bar, type or paste: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Topten Software\Cantabile 4.0 (x64)
Send me a copy of the files log.txt and settings.json
There may also be a sub-folder “Crash Reports”. Check in there for any recent crash reports and send a copy of the most recent one (if it seems to be dated when you last tried to run Cantabile).
Hopefully that will be enough to diagnose it, otherwise I might need you to manually create a crash report - I’ll provide details if necessary then.
One thing you could try if you just want to get up and running again would be to rename the folder Cantabile 4.0 (x64) to something else (eg: Cantabile 4.0 (x64) (Backup)) and try running Cantabile again. That’ll reset all your settings as if you’d just installed for the first time.
