I believe that bugs and latency problems can be easily solved even without a big budget.
The problem of a VST set, in my opinion, is that you need more gears and cables to set it up. And on a gig that could be very annoying.
I am enviois of some friends of mine that go on the stage with just one keyboard and a couple of cables.
I wonāt anymore accept limitations of one synth or one workstation only. If you are so committed to be comfortable why not a computer and a keyboard? There are some models with an audio board inside. The only overhead to use a computer in this case is an USB cableā¦
@Furio, I like my VST setup as it is, and i have no intention to change it
It is:
- Master keyboar
- Focusrite
- Laptop
- Usb cable from laptop to focusrite
- Midi cable from keyboard to focusrite
- Power supply cable for the laptop
- power supply cable for the keyboard
- line out jacks from the focusrite
Here is my friendās setup:
- Keyboard
- power supply cable for the keyboard
- line out jacks from the keyboard
Total time for him to set it up: 30 seconds
Has he same sound quality and flexibility playing a gig?
he plays pretty much grandpiano sound, with not bad quality at all. Not a lot di f flexibility, but he does not need.
By the way, as i said, i wouldnāt ever change my setup just because of flexibility and quality. That is why i keep carrying along all those gears/cables
Seems like this thread is already hijackedā¦
