Audio player goes mute - SOLVED

Hi @brad so probably meters stopped lighting to me too, I really cannot remember exactly.

But, the good news here is that the issue didn’t happened anymore. However, I had the same symptoms as you described . I’m sure you’re gonna fix it!

Thanks!

OK, I’ve made two fixes for this:

  1. Increased the size of the read ahead buffer for small audio cycle times
  2. Added code to re-seek the reader if it detects that it’s too far behind

This should reduce the chance of it happening in the first place and ensure it recovers if it does.

Still testing but it seems to work well and will probably be in the next build.

Quick update … just heard back from another user who was getting this problem fairly regularly saying that this issue seems to be resolved.

This just happened to me last night. No problem playing VST’s. Audio from Media Player simply stopped sending audio out. Everything appears to be ok, transport shows that it is playing, output meters show that it is playing but NO audio can be heard. Restarted, rebooted…still no.
I’m stumped

I solved the problem.

I tried to duplicate the problem at home using a different audio interface but everything worked.

I went back to my original rig and it too was ok.

I have a feeling that something went awry with the ASIO driver at the OS level.

Whatever way, it’s ok now!
