Arturia V5 Synths not responding to CC7

Hoping for a really quick solution to this.

I’ve got a bunch of ARturia soft synths, but I’m having a hard time getting them to react to CC7 messages. I’ve tried adding a filter (CC7 in, CC& out), but that isn’t working. I only found one comment on the Arturia forum about this, but there were no responses to it either. (Prophet and Jupiter the last time I checked.

I don’t think I’m filtering out the CC7 messages.

Any idea what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks in advance -

The Arturia plugins are somewhat strange. If I am understanding your question correctly, you will have to setup CC# through the plug itself. If you are using the Arturia V collection, click on the symbol for MIDI, which looks like the end of a midi cable, controls that accept midi messages will light up, and you can enter the number, or choose learn, and move your control. Hope this helps.

That’s it.

Interesting that they have such a convoluted way to manage something that is relatively universal in hardware.

Like I said, “somewhat strange” ! Took me awhile to figure it out when I first used the plugs. Took me even longer to set the midi channel. Everything is so small to read too.

Another option is simply to create a binding from CC07 to a Cantabile gain fader (and maybe filter out CC07 from going into the plugin, just to be safe), if you’d rather not fiddle about with controller automation in the plugin.

Neil’s way is the way I use CC# 7 on most everything. Makes everything consistent, and easier with multiple songs and plugs.

Thanks again. I’ll get this setup. This definitely helps (and gives me a bit more flexibility at the Cantabile level, not the plug in which I’d need to change back and forth a lot).
