What does this source binding do? "Selected State Name"

This source binding is within a rack, but I can’t find any documentation about it. Anyone using it?

You can use this source binding to send the current state name to an external synth, display or other via the “SysEx” target. It’s a bit convoluted to get the sysex strings right, but if you want to build Cantabile into a dedicated controller keyboard, this binding may come in handy to control a display.
